FITMENT
CHANGES
THE CAR.

FORM. POSITION.
THE WHOLE PICTURE.

Wheel size, width, offset and concavity change more than a specification. They change proportion, stance and presence.

Start with the visual relationship. Then consider the vehicle, tire and installation details that make the idea possible.

01 / PROPORTION

SCALE CHANGES
THE SILHOUETTE.

Read the wheel and tire together. The visible metal is only one part of the overall shape.

The overall tire diameter stays constant. A larger rim leaves less sidewall in this comparison.

01

WHEEL DIAMETER

More wheel. A different proportion.

A larger rim changes the balance between visible metal and tire sidewall. Read rim diameter together with tire size to understand the complete outer shape.

02

WHEEL WIDTH

The relationship has another dimension.

Width changes the position of the inner and outer rim edges. Consider it with offset and a tire approved for that rim width, rather than treating a wider wheel as a visual upgrade on its own.

02 / POSITION

STANCE IS
A RELATIONSHIP.

The wheel, tire and arch create the look together. Compare where the tire edge sits in relation to the outer arch.

Tucked: the outer tire edge sits further inside the arch in this illustration.

Same wheel width / different position relative to the outer arch.

03

OFFSET

A number that changes the position.

Offset describes the mounting face relative to the wheel centerline. For the same width, reducing offset moves the wheel outward; increasing it moves the wheel inward. Changing width also changes the result.

08

FLUSH / AGGRESSIVE

Three positions. Three visual attitudes.

Tucked draws the tire inward. Flush brings its edge close to the arch. Aggressive pushes the visual position outward. Use these descriptions to communicate the stance you have in mind.

03 / DEPTH

CONCAVITY
ADDS CHARACTER.

Spoke depth changes how light travels across the face, adding shadow, volume and a different sense of center.

VISUAL COMPARISON / CONCAVITY / DEPTH

FORM GAINS ANOTHER DIMENSION.

Follow the spoke profile from the outer rim to the center.

Three illustrative spoke profiles: flat, medium and deepRelationship study, not to scale. No vehicle measurements or automatic compatibility result.FLATMEDIUMDEEP
Spoke-profile sketches showing increasing visual depth. These are shape studies, rather than cross-sections of a manufactured wheel.

06

CONCAVITY

Depth starts with a design. It follows a setup.

A deeper profile makes the transition from rim to center more pronounced. Wheel architecture, width, offset and the space around the brakes shape the profile available for a particular setup.

04 / CONNECTION

THE DETAILS
YOU DON’T SEE.

The mounting interface is less visible than the face. Bolt pattern and center bore connect the wheel’s form to the vehicle hub.

Generic five-hole pattern. Bolt pattern, center bore and mounting hardware are separate interfaces.

04

PCD / BOLT PATTERN

The mounting pattern comes first.

PCD describes the diameter of the circle through the fastener positions; fastener count is part of the bolt pattern. The pattern, mounting hardware and seating arrangement are separate details to confirm for the vehicle.

05

CENTER BORE

A central opening. A specific relationship.

The center opening relates to the vehicle hub. Hub fit and the approved mounting arrangement determine how this interface is specified; bolt pattern and center bore remain separate checks.

05 / THE COMPLETE SETUP

THE TIRE
FINISHES THE FORM.

The rim is the starting point. The tire, load requirements and intended use complete the discussion.

07

WHEEL & TIRE RELATIONSHIP

Sidewall, shoulder and overall diameter.

Tire size and profile shape the relationship between rim, sidewall and arch. Comparing a larger rim with a lower sidewall at a similar overall tire diameter helps reveal how the visible balance changes.

BEYOND A PARKED SIDE VIEW

CONSIDER
THE WHOLE CAR.

Bring your model year, current wheel and tire sizes, intended use and any suspension changes. These details help frame the review of clearances, load requirements and the proposed look.

This guide explains visual and dimensional relationships. Final wheel, tire, clearance, mounting and installation requirements must be verified for the specific vehicle and intended use.
